International Coordinator
The Total Defence Research Institute (FOI) is a government agency conducting world-leading research in defense and security to support Sweden's military and civil defense. The research spans several areas, including underwater, cyber defense, space, electronic warfare, sensor systems, civil defense, CBRNe (chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, and explosive materials), military platforms including weapons and protection, as well as security policy analysis. FOI's research plays a key role in building Sweden's defense capability.

About the Position
As an international coordinator, you will be responsible for establishing and maintaining international relations within FOI's area of responsibility, Swedish defense research. You will prepare matters related to bilateral or multilateral cooperation. You will support the Director General in his role as the Swedish Defense Research Director and assist the research departments in their international work. The job also involves planning and carrying out trips and visits, as well as maintaining contacts with researchers and managers. FOI is in a strong growth phase, which means your role may evolve and change in line with the agency's needs.
About Us
You will be part of the Office for International Coordination, which belongs to the Director General's Management Support Department. The office currently consists of 9 people and is located in Kista, where the position of international coordinator is also based.

Do You Have the Competence Profile We Need?
Requirements
We are looking for someone who has:
- a degree that FOI considers relevant for the position,
- experience working in a similar role with international relations in a research or defense environment or equivalent,
- good ability to express yourself in both spoken and written Swedish and English.
As a person, you are structured and have the ability to plan and organize your work effectively. You are self-driven and take responsibility for your tasks, and you are used to driving your work forward. Furthermore, you are accommodating and have an interest and willingness to help others. Since the role involves collaborating with various individuals and competencies within the agency, both within and outside the International Office, it is important that you have personal maturity and good collaboration skills that contribute to a positive working climate. We place great emphasis on your personal qualities.
Meritorious
It is meritorious if you have:
- experience of similar tasks within a government agency,
- international experience through work on-site in another country with tasks that we consider to provide relevant experience for the position,
- other language skills in addition to Swedish and English, e.g., German or French.
